The Tag Reader is a touch-and-talk reading device that is a big improvement on previous reading systems from Leapfrog.  They were bulky and required you to keep the books together with their cartridges in order to read along and play the games.

The Tag is a special a pen which the child positions across the page pointing at parts the book as it reads the words, or the whole page.  It allows you to interact with objects in the pictures. The book information is downloaded to the pen, so once it's there, you only need to keep the Tag handy, and the books in a sensible place.

Powered by batteries, the Tag comes with a USB cable and a CD, containing the Leapfrog Connect software. This is easy to set up. Create an account in your child's name, and the Connect software would then generate and print out rewards, as well as allowing you to download new books.

One book  comes with the Tag, you will have to buy more books to take advantage of the all the leapfrog tag features. Still, they are available on Amazon for about £11.99 each. The recommended retail on them is  £11.99 and you can also get them at Argos, Woolworths and similar shops for the same price.
